Send your request
Email hello@theupgradeauthority.co.uk from the address you use for Upgraded OS. Use the subject Upgraded OS data deletion request. Include your name, organisation or workspace, and say whether you want the whole account deleted or only particular information removed.
If you cannot email from the address you use to sign in, explain that in the request. We will ask for enough information to verify your identity safely. Your organisation may also need to confirm a request involving information that it controls.
You can delete specific data and keep the account
You do not have to close your entire account. Name the messages, files, photos, recordings, profile details or other information you want removed. We will explain whether it can be deleted while preserving records that belong to your organisation or other workspace users.
What is deleted with an account
Where the request can be fulfilled, we delete or anonymise your personal profile, device registrations, push notification tokens, preferences and other account information that is no longer needed. We also remove content that belongs only to you where there is no legal, security or organisational reason to keep it.
Closing an Upgraded OS account removes access to the application. Deleting the application from a phone does not by itself delete the account or workspace records.
What may be kept
Shared workspace information may belong to the organisation that provided your account and may be needed by other authorised users. Booking, accounting, tax, contractual, safety, fraud prevention, audit and support records may also need to be retained.
Records retained for these reasons are restricted to the permitted purpose. They may be kept for up to six years after the relevant relationship or financial period ends, and longer only where a legal claim, investigation or specific law requires it. Information is deleted or anonymised when that reason and period end.
What happens next
We will acknowledge the request, verify the account and confirm the result. If another organisation controls the information, we will tell you and help route the request correctly. If some information must be kept, we will explain the category of information and the reason.
